Welcome to the future home of Insight & Information. If you are here, chances are you’ve read my blog or my post in Ad Age. Either way, welcome and I hope you’ll want to play along.

If you stumbled here by another means, let me catch you up.

I'm proposing the creation of an Insight & Information service for ad agency execs and client side marketing departments. The idea is that no one can possibly stay abreast of everything that is out there. It is overwhelming at best and impossible at worst.

We've all met those folks, the ones that are very current and on top of the latest information, developments and trends in marketing, consumer research, etc. They always seem to know what you should be paying attention to, what you can ignore and  what you should be on the look out for in the near future. But we all can't be that person, so instead of killing ourselves, let's let technology do it for us. The first step will be the creation of a free service utilizing aggregated Google Shared RSS feeds. I'm also trying to add a Digg like voting capacity so that in the end, you'll see the top 20 most important stories as ID'd by the collective minds that participate. From there, I hope to create a paid premium service that will involve a really smart person wading through it all for you.

That person or persons will be responsible for creating a monthly report to help all of us stay ahead of the curve. To make this report more valuable, we’ll limit the subscription list to 5,000 members. Chances are we'll have to charge some kind of subscription for the service so to also offer a "free" service we'll use a Twitter account to send out timely links to important information or maybe post it via a blog that you can add to your RSS feeder. Something simple. But a timely source of great, new information and insights.

Additionally, I'm looking to create a  second level of membership, which involves the co-funding of an outsourced Insight & Information department with access to all the best third-party research resources. I have no idea what this will cost but at this point, I’m just interested in starting the conversation with other interested parties. I'm happy to report, this option is receiving a lot of serious interest.

If either of the two ideas above interest you, kindly use the Register Interest page to let me know if you’re interested in one or both options and provide me with a valid way to contact you, I’ll let you know where we go from here.
